(Wilmington, MA- Jan 2008) Pedro’s,
the one of the industries most dedicated
supporters
of messy, New England style Cyclocross, is
proud to have helped sponsored athletes
Tim
Johnson and Katie Compton clean up the
competition in Kansas City, KS last month
during the US National Cyclocross
Championships.
The cold and snow earlier in the week
broke into blue skies for the Elite races
on Sunday,
December 16th but, along with warmer
weather came the mud. “Cross is the
perfect testing
grounds for our products” said Pedro’s R
and D guru Alex Vaivars. “Cold, snow and
mud are
all part of the norm in cross. And if you
want to win, you need to keep the bike
running clean
and smooth”.
Compton, winning her fourth consecutive
National Championship rode away from the
competition, beating all but one rider by
more than one minute. Johnson, taking his
second
National title, had his work cut out for
him, battling with World Championship
silver medalist,
Jonathan Page, until the last lap when he
was able to attack and make the most of
the clean line
in front of him.
Look for these and other Pedro’s athletes
as they head to Italy this month for the
World
Cyclocross Championships.
